Datin Patricia Lim Pui Huen

Author and Vice President of Malaysian Branch of Royal Asiatic Society, Datin Patricia Lim Pui Huen has published her book, "Wong Ah Fook: Immigrant, Builder & Entrepreneur" in 2003.

It was her attempt to trace her root to her great grandfather, Wong Ah Fook, who was a major contractor for the Johor State Government. (Unfortunately, the book is out of print now.)

"The research took over 10 years of research work," she said. "There were few written documents in those days. Most business transaction was done on account of one’s word. It had to involve a lot of trust."

Datin Lim met Henry Tom for the first time over an arranged dinner meeting and exchanged notes about their common interest in genealogy.

Meanwhile, Lim says she she is now in the process of publishing two other books: "Johor 1855- 1957 – Local History, Local Landscape" and "Through the Eyes of the King – The Travels of King Chulalongkorn in Malaya."
